On our way back from Cornwall, we went the
Reading the music festival. In 1975 it was held from August 22-24, but we only stayed 2 of the 3 days.

This was the first large-scale rock concert we attended. The weather was perfect as was the music. We only attended on the first day but we had a great time despite the crowds.
Here is an account from the
ukrockfestivals website:
This was one of the stronger line-ups of the middle 70s and apparently one of the biggest ever crowds. According to some accounts, there was "a rain of cans and bottles after every act." This was turning into a festival tradition one could do without. A mass of bikers showed up , Lou Reed was billed to play but did not show. Some great bands , but the atmosphere was not as convivial as it once had been , similar festivals at Knebworth, Watchfield and Windsor were much more friendly events .
