Bristol - Berkshire

Rolling western plains

After reaching Land's End, we headed back along the rolling western plains towards London.

Our first stop was the beautiful city of Bath, best known for its Roman-built baths.

We spent some time walking around the town, and visited the baths which was quite an eerie experience.

Postcard -The Pump Room
We were in a tight budget but while there we just had to have afternoon tea in the Pump Room.

It was fantastic, everything you'd expect - coloured light light filtering through the stained glass windows, live chamber music and the loud clattering of tea-cups, spoons and forks scraping the last skerricks of cake off the little plates.

While at Bath we came across an alternative energy and sustainability fair featuring wind power, composting, recycling, etc.

Not without a sense of humour though as there were also boat rides, clowns and street theatre as you do.

These photos were taken in the Bristol-Berkshire region as we travelled, but unfortunately no location details.
